Trouble in Paradise

Inside

I don’t want to be privy
to your intimate (and sordid) relationship details --

much more than I ever needed to know.

Looking at you both now,
I realize why her gaze stays downcast and sullen --

all the more reason I despise you.

  1. I'd be right there with her! I would instinctually despise anyone who abuses! This is powerful, Katy!

    1. Thanks, Gina. And that abuse can come in many different forms.

I appreciate you reading and commenting.

    1. Thank you. I'm glad you stopped by.

It's difficult to know about the ugliness that goes on behind closed doors and even harder to act unknowing.

  3. The silence and demeanor that hide the pain. You've met the underlying emotion of the scene head on. Well done, Katy.

  4. On the outside looking in can be terrible. Hard to be close to them, too. Paradise is relative... Great post!

    1. Thanks! It's also hard to help someone who won't help herself. Tough spot.
